Dr Lauren White
BAppSc(HM) MBBS FRACP MPhil
Dr White is a general gastroenterologist with interests in bowel cancer screening and inflammatory bowel disease.
Lauren graduated from Griffith University in 2010 and was accepted as a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2019, and completed her Gastroenterology and Hepatology training in South East Queensland.
Additionally, she has completed specialist fellowship training in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, and Osepedale Luigi Sacco, Italy, Milan.
Lauren has a keen interest in clinical research and was awarded a Masters of Philosophy in 2021 for her work in Intestinal Ultrasound in the Australian Model of Inflammatory Bowel Disease care. She is actively involved in the clinical trials at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Lauren has settled herself and her family on the Sunshine Coast and looks forward to a long and fulfilling career delivering high quality, evidence-based medical care to her fellow Sunshine Coast residents.

Dr Vikas Gupta
MBBS (Hons) BSc (Med) Hons FRACP
Dr Gupta is an Australian and internationally trained Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. He is dedicated to providing his patients with best practice evidence-based care. Along with his colleagues he is committed to bringing tertiary level endoscopic services to the Sunshine Coast.
Vikas was born and raised in Sydney and graduated Medicine with Honours from the University of New South Wales. Following completion of his core Gastroenterology and Hepatology training at Westmead Hospital and its renowned endoscopy unit, he completed an Interventional Endoscopy Fellowship at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney.
Subsequently he was accepted into the prestigious Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Since then he has also completed a Fellowship in hepatopancreaticobiliary medicine with a focus on therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) at Hôpital Privé Jean Mermoz in Lyon, France - one of the highest volume advanced endoscopy centres in Europe.
Vikas enjoys raising his young family on the Sunshine Coast, loves sport and remains a committed Blues supporter despite relocating to Queensland.

Dr Chris Kia
MBBS FRACP
Dr. Kia is an Australian trained Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. Dr. Kia graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2009 and was accepted as a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2019, after completing his Gastroenterology and Hepatology training in South East Queensland. Dr. Kia went on to complete his subspecialty fellowship training in Interventional Endoscopy at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Kia is passionate about high quality and evidence-based gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy care, which includes the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), cholangiopancreatoscopy (Spyglass), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), balloon enteroscopy and radiofrequency ablation (RFA), with special interests in hepatopancreatobiliary diseases, Barrett’s oesophagus and small intestinal diseases. He is actively involved in training of junior doctors and endoscopy fellows at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and is a Senior Lecturer at the Griffith University School of Medicine.

Dr Tehara Wickremeratne
BSc (Hons) MBBS MSc FRACP
Dr. Wickremeratne is an Australian-trained Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2012 before moving to Southeast Queensland to complete her advanced medical training in Gastroenterology. In 2019, she completed a Fellowship with the Princess Alexandra Hospital Hepatology & Liver Transplant Service in Brisbane, and was also accepted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. In addition to her medical degrees, Dr. Wickremeratne has been awarded a master’s degree in Clinical Trials Research and a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology & Genetics.
Dr. Wickremeratne sees patients with all gastrointestinal conditions and has a special interest in liver disease. Dr Wickremeratne performs upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, and is passionate about providing high-quality procedures for bowel cancer screening.
Dr. Wickremeratne is dedicated to ongoing learning and regularly attends both national and international conferences. She is actively involved in clinical research and teaching at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Dr Wickremeratne loves living by the beach and looks forward to a long and fulfilling career and family life within the Sunshine Coast. She remains committed to the provision of exceptional medical care.

Kylie Clavarino
Dietician
Kylie is a highly experienced, advanced Dietitian who works in the Sunshine Coast’s tertiary hospital as a specialist in gastroenterology nutrition care and has been a devoted generalist clinical dietitian on the Sunshine Coast for 20yrs.
Kylie has had broad clinical experience in managing complex nutrition care issues across most medical and surgical conditions utilising up to date, evidence based approaches. Kylie is particularly passionate about;
• listening to individual stories and experiences,
• developing an understanding of each patient’s unique nutrition challenges,
• assisting and supporting the development of realistic and achievable nutrition treatment plans and goals,
• building positive relationships with food which is critical to success and wellbeing Kylie has spent most of her professional life working on the Sunshine Coast as a clinical leader for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and enjoys working in health care teams to provide coordinated patient care.Kylie is very eager to help you navigate your individual diagnosis and best nutrition treatment options as we understand this can be a very challenging time for each of our patients.
